Glass
This pumpkin was made to be an interesting addition to our halloween decorations. It was made using a very specific tool and style of glassblowing, where we blew the glass into a mold that gave it the ridges that are so characteristic of pumpkins.
These glass flowers were the first things I made using glass. They helped me understand and get familiar with the look and feel of shaping glass, while also giving me practice in gathering it.
This is a glass bowl that is mainly for show. It is designed to remind one of the sea. The colors I chose were meant for that, as the deep blue was representative of the water, while the yellow was to bring forth thoughts of sand or corals. The wavy style of the edges of the bowl is meant for that as well.
These tall glass cups are primarily for drinking beverages. They were made the shape they were in order to be easy to hold and to contain a fairly large amount of liquid. They are round and not too wide, since I wanted them to be comfortable in the users hand. The base was attached to provide a good foundation for the cup to stand on.
These paperweights were created to look good on ones desk while being used to keep papers from flying away. They were extremely helpful for me when I was experimenting with colors and the consistency of the glass.
